About the MMSC FoundationThe Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center Foundation was established in 1993 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. The Foundation's mission statement is "Developing relationships and financial resources to support the hospital’s mission of providing healthcare that meets the needs of the communities it serves." The MMSC Foundation continues to support the hospital’s mission by promoting collaboration and by providing health education and preventive programs. Community support, commitment and dedication are necessary to meet the needs of a changing and challenging health care environment. All Foundation spending decisions are made by the Foundation's board members. Board members, who are elected and serve three year terms, represent a cross section of the communities MMSC serves. Many have special knowledge in banking and finance, and lend their expertise to responsible management of the Foundation's funds.
